The shipyard GREBEN was established in 1948 as a legal successor to a formerly private shipbuilding workshop. It was registered for the building and repair of wooden boats but shortly after its establishment the company started building wooden fishing boats up to 30m length.

In 1950 the company commenced the production of fast rescue boats made of aluminium alloy and life-saving equipment. In 1960 fibreglass boats as well as lifeboat winches were included in the company's production programme.

In the 1970's the company grew into one of the leading manufacturers of larger fibreglass vessels such as patrol boats, fishing boats up to 50m, passenger ships, fast rescue boats and sailing boats.

The shipyard not only widened its production programme with new types of vessels, it also enlarged and improved its production capacities: workshops, building berths,equipment workshops, etc.

Today MONTMONTAZA-GREBEN d.o.o. employs 130 workers and boasts a production programme covering:
- lifeboats and life saving equipment,
- military and police vessels,
- fishing boats and passenger ships,
- motor yachts, sailing and leisure boats,
- repair and reconstruction services for all types of smaller vessels.

"Maestral" is a semi-displacement boat whose lines and shape resemble those of the Pasara sailing boat. It is designed for recreation and leisure and smaller models are suitable for sports fishing as well as for boat rentals. The boat is produced in various lengths: 4.5m, 5m, 6m and 7m. Primarily designed for coastal and open sea sailing in the Mediterranean it has also proved to be very stable in rough seas. Due to its heavy and robust frame which differentiates it from other similar boats on the market, it became very popular among customers who recognised its quality and practical use, guaranteed by a 50-year tradition in production and repair of military and police boats, lifeboats and fast rescue boats.
